about

TARA GAYAN is a music and production duo formed by Agnieszka Mendel and Maciej Hanusek. Their work draws inspiration from world music and Far Eastern philosophy, blending Agni's hypnotic and extraordinarily versatile voice with vintage guitar tones, refined electronic elements, and a myriad of cosmic, multidimensional sounds. Add to this a mosaic of languages, beautiful melodies, and stories woven into sound—tales of archetypes, heroes with a thousand faces, and ordinary people. Their musical style, which they define as CosmoRetro-SynthEthno, reflects their diverse artistic and travel experiences. Their music is an intriguing, multi-layered narrative about life, human nature, and love, filled with deep, thought-provoking lyrics.

TARA GAYAN’s concerts incorporate elements of dance and storytelling, and their stage charisma transports the audience into a unique, musical-fantasy universe where emotions merge with sound and image. They usually perform as a trio, regularly collaborating with a talented percussionist and handpanist, Michał Brańka.

They are currently working on their debut album Indian Stories, exploring and shaping their musical identity. The upcoming album is heralded by singles such as “Tribute to Life,” “I Know Not,” and “Radość,” with lyrics by Rabindranath Tagore.

TARA GAYAN is also deeply inspired by the environment in which they create. The musicians consciously chose to live and work in a forest in eastern Poland. Their music studio is nestled in a wooden house surrounded by lush and wild nature, providing them with the quiet and space they need for concentration, while simultaneously sparking a continuous creative dialogue between the artistic spirit and world of nature.
